Folly Lake available for pleasure fishing
Folly is now open again for carp fishing. It has been closed since the New Year at weekends in order to remove the silver fish from the lake. The water level has is now back to normal and the lake is full. While it was drained new lily beds were established close to the islands which should provide some nice new features over the next few years.
Some good catches in Folly today 27th Feb, Harry Cumpsty (Oldham) had a 20lb & 12lb common carp on light tackle (size 20 hook and 3lb line). Please email any pictures to mail@hamptonsprings.co.uk.
Perch catches on Alice Springs
Elsehere on the fishery some nice perch have been showing particularly from Alice Springs and Meadows. Eric Brown from Lyneal had a 1lb15oz and 1lb12oz perch catching on centre pin reel. He was using double lob worm under float, feeding maggot and coming from corners. His friend Kenny Jones from Stone had some nice roach around 10ozs, feeding maggot and chopped worm.
